When it comes to creating a new menu our chefs must take into consideration various aspects in order to make the dishes our customers adore.
How do they do it? Well...
Start with a cup of coffee – Always a great start to any task!
What’s in this season? – Undergo research into what ingredients and produce is at its finest (height of the season) (not forgetting produce which is sourced locally and sustainably) #producenotprofit
Why do we change our menu based upon the season?
Because….Seasonal Makes Sense
In today’s world where exotic foods are shipped globally and practically everything is always growing somewhere, what does “in season” really mean?
At Tiffin we only source local, sustainable produce from our partnerships with the very best independent producers. Some believe that seasonal produce are ingredients which our bodies require at different times of the year.
It’s all about balance – pairing ingredients, spices and flavours to match and compliment one another is key to the perfect dish.
Tips for Buying Seasonal
Shopping at your local markets instead of supermarkets – you are guaranteed to find fresh seasonal produce harvested for that specific time of year. Or subscribe to a portion of a local farm’s harvest through a community-supported agriculture (CSA) program that delivers fresh produce to you regularly throughout the growing season
